Cryotherapy - Removal of benign skin imperfections.
Cryotherapy, is a highly effective, quick and safe solution for the removal of benign ( non cancerous) skin lesions and imperfections. The procedure is virtually painless and each lesion usually takes from 5 to 20 seconds to treat. The cryotherapy device emits a pressurised, super fine jet of nitrous oxide from its tip, which allows for precision. The tissue is destroyed by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, this forms ice crystals which break the cell membrane, thereby destroying the tissue.
After care is minimal, but in some circumstances, a small blister may form, which will quickly reabsorb over the following couple of days. The lesion will dry up and slough off over the following few weeks. It is very important not to pick at the area as this will increase healing time.
